Fight for Life helps kids from disadvantaged backgrounds succeed in school and become men and women of strong character. The organization seeks to instill four core values in program participants: humility, creativity, perspective, and passion.
Founder Marlin Jackson created the foundation to help children from backgrounds that were similar to his own. Jackson never met his father, and his mother struggled with drug addiction issues. He bounced from home to home before finding support from his football coach. He went on to play football in the NFL and later established Fight for Life to help children in similar circumstances succeed.
Fight for Life offers a variety of programs designed to encourage students to make positive choices and turn away from negative influences. Students can participate in programs rooted in sports or music, and some programs include teachers and family members, allowing at-risk youth to access a much-needed support system.
